Over the past few weeks, Samsung released the July 2021 security patch to most of its eligible Galaxy devices including phones and tablets. Now, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 becomes the latest device to get the most up to date security patch through a software update.

According to the info, Samsung’s July 2021 security patch update started deploying to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 foldable smartphone in Germany. It comes with a PDA software version: F916BXXU1DUF1 and brings system security improvements.

Other than the device security enhancements, the latest Galaxy Z Fold 2 software update changelog doesn’t mention any new feature or major system optimization. Well, the firmware should improve the performance of stock applications for a better overall user experience.

Launched back in Q2 2020, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is Samsung’s second-generation folding smartphone, which came with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 out of the box. In late last year, the company delivered the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update followed by One UI 3.1 earlier this year.

As it’s an expensive smartphone, the Korean tech giant is committed to bringing regular security updates on a monthly basis. Furthermore, the device will also get major upgrades up to Android 13-based One UI 6.0 (tentative name).
