The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the second-generation foldable smartphone offering from Samsung. However, the company is going to launch two new folding smartphones at its next Unpacked on August 11, alongside a new One UI version i.e. the One UI 3.1.1.

As the One UI 3.1.1 is exclusively coming with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 out of the box, the Korena tech giant is also working to optimize this version for the current eligible Galaxy devices such as Galaxy S21, S20, Note 20 series, and Galaxy Z Fold 2.

According to the info, CheckFirm, which is an Android application used to find test firmware for the Galaxy devices, detected a new test firmware for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which bears PDA version number F916NKSU1DUG7.

Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 running the Andriod 11-based One UI 3.1, and the new test firmware number clearly hints at a new One UI version that has been tested on the device ahead of release. Most probably, it’s the 3.1.1 version of the One UI, which will arrive ahead of the Android 12 update.

The upcoming One UI 3.x (Android 11) version won’t bring powerful features and major UI tweaks. Meanwhile, it’s expected that the One UI 3.1.1 could bring performance improvements and a more optimized system for a better overall user experience.
