Breaking: Quick Share coming soon for Samsung laptops launched in 2020!

Just recently, Samsung announced that it’s working to develop a new Quick Share update in order to support bring support for old notebooks and laptops launched back in 2020. Furthermore, the company has also disclosed the procedure of this activity that you can see below.

  • Sequential opening on August 6th, Korean time
  • Updated version: 1.0.78

Supported models:

  • Samsung Notebook Odyssey (released in 2020)
  • Samsung Notebook Plus
  • Samsung Notebook Plus2

Aside from the new eligible devices for Quick Share, the company promised to improve its stability by fixing some unknown bugs. At the same time, it’s recommended that users need to update the Intel Wi-Fi/Bluetooth driver through the Samsung Update app for smoother use.

Things to remember:

  • Intel Wi-Fi driver version: 22.60.0.6 or higher
  • Intel Bluetooth driver version: 22.50.1.1 or higher installation is required.

Note:

If it is not a full version such as Windows 10 OS trial version, developer version, or Windows 11 OS preview, there may be problems with Quick share operation.

Aside from this, the company has changed the schedule for Galaxy Book S (intel/Arm) models and the updates will be carried out on a separate timeline later.

Galaxy Book Pro x Quick Share

Back in April 2021, Samsung unveiled its new laptop lineup that includes Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360. Surprisingly, the company revealed that these PCs come with Galaxy smartphone-like Quick Share function for seamless file sharing across devices.

However, the Quick Share feature comes pre-equipped with the Galaxy Book Pro lineup, the OEM is rapidly working to bring it to older Galaxy laptops and notebooks. Although the company didn’t disclose any specific timeline, we can expect its arrival very soon.
