Global smartphone OEMs have been using Samsung’s premium displays for their new products for years. A couple of months back, Xiaomi released its Mi 11 Ultra phone with Samsung Display’s E4 AMOLED screen and now, IQOO is going to become the first brand to debut E5 OLED with its IQOO 8 Pro smartphone.

According to the latest information, Vivo is preparing to introduce the IQOO 8 Pro device in near future. As mentioned, the device will be the first to use Samsung Display’s AMOLED display with a new material stack called E5.

However, there’s no information available regarding the new stack, but undoubtedly, OLED display makers are usually switching to new material stacks to provide higher energy efficiency, wider color gamut, or other display performance.

And of course, the desire to reduce the cost of the display plays an important role. Although it will be possible to talk in detail about the features provided by E5 OLED after the Korean tech giant or phone maker officially presents the development.

As per the reports, the IQOO 8 Pro will feature a 6.78 E5 OLED display with 3200 x 1440 pixels resolution, supplied by Samsung Display. Furthermore, the LTPO control circuit will support 1-120 Hz refresh rates, while the peak brightness will be 1500 cd / m 2.
