Earlier, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 debuted as Samsung’s third-generation foldable screen smartphones. At the same time, other OEMs are also working to enter the foldable phone market and Google is one of them.

A few days ago, the US tech giant announced that its upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices will launch with a custom-developed chip called Tensor. Meanwhile, a recent report revealed that the Android 12 source code revealed that Google’s first foldable – Pixel Fold is coming soon with the same Tensor chip.

According to the info via AndroidCentral, the source code found in the Android 12 beta, a device code-named “Passport” was disclosed. This code name may be the rumored Pixel Fold folding screen phone, and Google may be preparing to unveil it before the end of the year.

Apart from this, in the cstark27’s tweet, four devices using unannounced Samsung Exynos modems were mentioned. The model of this modem is “g5123b”, which will be consistent with Samsung’s current processor “5123A”.

It is reported that two devices mentioned in the source code of the Android 12 beta are “Oriole” and “Raven”, which represent the code names of Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Meanwhile, “Passport” has appeared in previous leaks, as well as the previous Android 12 beta and developer preview.

If it’s true, we can easily speculate that Google’s Tensor chip won’t be exclusive for the upcoming Pixel 6 series, but may also be used for Pixel Fold folding screens. It is rumored that Samsung is the manufacturer of the Tensor chip, so it is reasonable to use this modem, so this is mentioned in the source code.

Google claimed that the Tensor chip will put the Pixel 6 into the ranks of the best Android phones and at the same time make it one of the safest smartphones in the world. It gives Google complete control over the way the hardware and software communicate, which may lead to better image processing and so on.
