Sensor Tower: PUBG Mobile was the world’s most downloaded game in July 2021

On August 16, Sensor Tower released its latest report that shows Tencent’s “PUBG Mobile” and “Peace Elite” ranked first in the global mobile game download list in July due to the return in the Indian market as Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Tap2Play’s Count Masters was the second most installed mobile game worldwide last month with 24.4 million installs. The country with the largest number of Count Masters installations is the US, which accounts for 10.6% of the total downloads, and India accounts for about 7%.

Outfit7’s My Talking Angela 2, Pantene’s Trading Master 3D, and Supersonic Studios’ Bridge Race ranked among the top five mobile games with the most installed worldwide this month. Do note that downloads are only counted on App Store and Google Play, excluding third-party Android markets.

Notably, in July 2021, the number of global mobile game downloads on the App Store and Google Play was 4.7 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 2.3%. However, the Indian market ranks No. 1 with 815 million downloads, accounting for 17.2% of the total global downloads, followed by the US with 9.3% of downloads and Brazil.

Note:

  • Sensor Tower download data is only counted for the first installation of the App Store or Google Play account
  • Multiple installations of the same account on different or the same device are not counted repeatedly.
  • Download data has been merged with multiple versions of the same application, such as Facebook and Facebook Lite.
