Samsung hosting Kotlin for Android Bootcamp 2021 online school for young developers

As part of the global Samsung Innovation Campus‘ program, Samsung hosted an online school “Bootcamp 2021: Kotlin for Android” for graduates “Samsung IT School” and “Samsung IT Academy”. From July 15 to August 10, new developers are studying 29 video lessons and developing projects – mobile applications.

About 280 people from 22 cities participated in a training program for talented engineers, of whom 166 participants successfully passed the tests and were awarded Samsung certificates.

The “Samsung IT School” focuses on acquiring knowledge and practical skills in the field of school systems for children in grades 9-10, who have a passion for algorithmic thinking, and have a solid knowledge of computer school science and mathematics course.

Samsung IT School students are studying the development of mobile applications in the Java programming language of the Android platform. School children are determined to choose their future careers and see themselves in the field of information technology – an important guide to developing the country’s economy.

Admission for applications for the 2021/22 academic year is open on the program website https://myitschool.ru/.

The program is aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 25 and promotes access to information and technical skills in the IT sector. Russia is the first country in the world to launch SIC projects.

At the end of the course, 10 teams were selected and presented their projects. The jury, in turn, determined the winners of “Bootcamp 2021: Kotlin for Android”:

  • 1st place – DeepSpace application, a team of Samsung IT School alumni.
  • 2nd place – Converta application, author Igor Efimov (graduate of 2021 from the Tomsk Hobby Center).
  • 3rd place – StoryTeller application, the development team.
  • 3rd place – ASK application: Audio Station Kit, author Arseny Lyskov.
