On August 11, Samsung uncovered its new Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 at a virtual launch conference. At the same time, the company has announced the pre-order period for these devices until August 23 and the shipments will begin from August 27 to the consumers.

According to the latest report, the new foldable smartphones are yet to reach customers but pre-order data indicate that the Korean tech giant is getting an impressive response in several regions. The report reveals that as of Sunday, the two devices are estimated to have received a total of 450,000 pre-orders.

Adding to this, the same source further claimed that the final Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 pre-order quantity may reach at least 600,000 units. Moreover, if you include the sales of the phones without carrier branding, the figures may even reach 800,000 which is quite ahead of the Galaxy Z Fold 2’s 80,000 pre-bookings.

Therefore, it’s looking like that the popularity of Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 is even higher than the latest models of Samsung’s Galaxy S series and Galaxy Note series. According to industry sources, Samsung’s foldable phone bookings are twice and 1.5 times that of the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy Note 20.

Statistics

The all-new Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 are especially popular among young customers. According to the data shared by mobile operators, 49% of Galaxy Z Fold 3 bookings are customers in their 20s to 30s, and they also account for 57% of Galaxy Z Flip 3 bookings.

The strong pre-order data is conducive to Samsung’s strategy to promote foldable phones, defend its position as the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, and respond to challenges from competitors such as China’s Xiaomi and OPPO/vivo.
