Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy S21 gets One UI 3.1.1 features with big August 2021 update
Starting this month, Samsung released the August 2021 security update for the Galaxy S21 series smartphones in several markets., later on, it’s reported that the company will deliver select One UI 3.1.1 features through a software update, but the version number won’t be changed.
Meanwhile, it looks like the alleged One UI 3.1.1 features has finally arrived for the Galaxy S21 series and it’s currently rolling out in Canada, spotted on Reddit. According to the info, the update package weighs nearly 1.1GB, while the changelog suggests system stability and security improvements.
Build numbers:
- Galaxy S21 Ultra – G998WVLU4AUGQ
- Galaxy S21 Plus – G996WVLU4AUGQ
- Galaxy S21 – G991WVLU4AUGQ
What about Galaxy Note 20 and S20?
Previously, it’s reported that a Samsung firmware team member revealed the One UI 3.1.1 update rollout timeline, which suggested the Galaxy S20 will get the One UI 3.1.1 from August 17, the Galaxy S21 from August 23, followed by the Galaxy Note 20 series.
Along with the update screenshot, the Galaxy S21 user mentioned several Twitter posts showing off his smartphone with One UI 3.1.1-like faster animations, a new weather app, faster pop-up menus, less heating, an enhanced system camera app, and much more. Again reminding that the alleged One UI 3.1.1 OTA is initially rolling out for the Canadian Galaxy S21 variants, while its global availability is unknown at the moment. You should stay tuned with us and keep checking your phone for a new software update.
