Latest WhatsApp beta enables users to delete chat threads from multiple platforms

Published

WhatsApp has finally added support for many devices earlier this summer, making it easier than ever to send messages to your friends and family even when your phone is not nearby. It’s a huge improvement compared to previous duplicates of the app, which offers four eligible devices to send a message from, even though you’re limited to one phone.

However, some bugs still need to be removed, including deleted chat threads that do not fit well on all platforms. WhatsApp is finally working on optimization, but it may be a while before it goes live.

As spotted in the newest WhatsApp beta, the ability to delete threads on multiple platforms is officially being developed (via WABetaInfo). Once activated, the app will automatically delete conversations on all paired devices, as long as you use updated software to support the feature. Unfortunately, it is not yet live for beta users, so it will be time to move on to a more stable version of WhatsApp.

On the other hand, this is not the only feature missing now when using multiple devices. Pinned conversations, starred messages, and old search history results were not in the early summer launch. However, we can expect as with the removed threads, these tools will reach WhatsApp users on all platforms this year.
