According to Bloomberg’s top 500 list of the world’s richest people, Samsung’s vice chairman Lee Jae-yong has once again become the richest man in South Korea, surpassing Kakao’s founder and chairman Kim Bum-soo. The latter has only been the richest man in South Korea for three months.

It is reported that Bloomberg’s ranking is based on holding shares, cash, and other assets minus liabilities and inheritance taxes. Lee Jae-yong, who ranks first in South Korea, is ranked 212th among the world’s top 500 richest people with 11.1 billion U.S. dollars in assets, and Kim Bum-soo is ranked 225th with 10.6 billion U.S. dollars in assets.
