Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series was came pre-installed with Android 11-based One UI 3.1, and later on received the One UI 3.1.1 features via OTA. These devices are confirmed to get the stable Android 12 update later this year, while consumers in select countries can now taste the One UI 4 features via Beta activity.

In order to provide the latest coverage over Samsung’s under-development Android 12 update, we’re also testing the One UI 4 ahead of stable release by joining the Beta program. No doubt, the latest One UI 4 Beta brings tons of new features, but, it also has some issues, in which one is related to the camera.

One UI 4 Beta overheating issue

We have the Galaxy S21 5G powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2100 flagship processor. With the stable build, the device had no overheating issue at all, while it seems, the One UI 4 Beta making it hot, mostly during the Camera uses, which needs to be fixed with Beta 3.

In contrast, I’ve used the Galaxy S21’s Camera to take nature imagery while got some free time. When I’ve opened the Camera and used it for a while, the backside became too hot even after the glasstic panel. However, the Camera module made of metal didn’t show such signs of overheating.

Most probably, the Galaxy S21’s overheating issue is occurring due to less optimization between the hardware and software such as Exynos 2100, Android 12 and One UI 4 Beta. Last but not least, we request Samsung to acknowledge this error and provide a fix with the next Beta update.
