Thanks to the One UI 4 Beta program, the Galaxy S21 series smartphone users are experiencing the Samsung Android 12 update before the public release. The One UI 4.0 beta version comes with a large number of features in which the RAM Plus and Material You are the noticeable ones as they take the user experience to the next level.

As per the recent reports, the next One UI 4 beta may release next week. Furthermore, the company has also confirmed that the stable Android 12 update will be rolling out for the Galaxy smartphones later this year. However, here, we are discussing the multi-window feature of One UI 4.0.

Multi-Window feature

Samsung Multi-window mode, or multitasking, lets you view two apps side by side on a split-screen. The multi-window symbol (bottom) will appear when you bring up the recently/opened app’s window. On older models, tapping this will immediately turn the app into a small window that can be resized later. Newer models and operating systems will bring up an options menu when you tap it.

Multitask by using multiple apps at the same time. Apps that support Multi-window
can be displayed together on a split-screen. You can switch between the apps and
adjust the size of their windows.

Note: Before following these steps, open both of the apps that you want to view in split-screen.

  1. From any screen, tap Recent apps.
  2. Tap the app icon, and then tap Open in split-screen view.
  3. Tap an app in the other window to add it to the split-screen view.
  4. Drag the middle of the window border to adjust the window size.

Window controls

The Window controls modify the way app windows are displayed in split-screen view.

  • Drag the middle of the window border to resize the windows.
  • Tap the middle of the window border for the following options:
  1. Switch window: Swap the two windows.
  2. Add app combo to Edge panel: Create and add an app pair shortcut to the Apps panel on the Edge screen.
