One UI 4.0 will end Samsung Places with Android 12 update
Samsung Places, powered by Hiya (caller profiling company) enabled consumers to search and call businesses directly from the dialer application. This popular functionality is only available in select countries including the US that had integrated the search and call functionality into the dialer itself.
Meanwhile, it looks like Samsung Places won’t be available for the Galaxy devices in the future as the company has just made an announcement, which confirms the end of service. You can check the official Samsung Places service end announcement below.
“We are sorry to announce that the service will no longer be available on Samsung devices operating Android 12 and later. Older phones not eligible for the Android 12 upgrade and phones not yet running Android 12 will continue to have access to Samsung Places.”
According to the info, Samsung Places has been removed from all Galaxy devices that were released on or after January 1st, 2021. Later on, the service won’t be available after the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 upgrade is completed on all OS upgrade-eligible devices.
