Samsung Canada recently announced a new 65” version of its lifestyle TV, The Serif, which is now available in Canada. As consumers trend towards purchasing larger screen televisions, Samsung is expanding its lifestyle TV portfolio by adding the 65” version of The Serif to the current lineup of 43″ and 55″ models.

Samsung’s The Serif is a mastery of form and function, inspired by the letter ‘I’ in a Serif font, that blurs the boundary between furniture and TV. Now, with a bigger screen, The Serif can provide an even more immersive viewing experience and blend into its environment more than ever.

Aside from its unique design, The Serif also offers Samsung QLED picture quality, displaying 100% color volume for a rich and realistic image across content. It also gives consumers a comprehensive Smart TV experience powered by Tizen OS with an expansive content library and smart features.

Through NFC technology, Samsung Galaxy smartphone models running Android 8.1 and above can utilize the Tap View feature to play content from their Galaxy mobile device on their TV by simply tapping the device on the sides of the TV.

Users can also easily connect to a compatible mobile device through connectivity features such as support for Apple AirPlay2 for more ways to watch content. When powered off, The Serif boasts Ambient Mode +, which allows it to display ambient imagery and multimedia produced by the Bouroullec brothers.

The iconic “I’ shaped design, packaged in a slim frame, turns The Serif into a stylish statement piece. Samsung also offers an optional metal stand that pairs with the TV so it can stand on its own, easily detachable for versatility. For more information on The Serif, please visit Samsung.com.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Camera 2024

Samsung could release a major camera update for the Galaxy S24 series in August 2024. While the flagships are yet to receive the July patch, details about the next month’s firmware surfacing online. The release timeline aligns with the rollout of new Galaxy AI features for the S24 series.

According to IceUniverse, Samsung will significantly improve the camera of the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the August 2024 update. The tipster claimed that the firmware is ‘about to be launched’ – hinting at the commencement of internal development and testing.

The source highlighted areas that will likely be improved with the update. The details include white balance optimization, HDR optimization, over-processing optimization, overexposure optimization, face optimization, and video zoom optimization.

Notably, the update may disappoint users waiting for a Telephoto camera and Nightography optimization beyond 10x zoom. The firmware will hopefully be optimized in August itself so the consumers will start getting it in the same month without any delay.

Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra. The S24 Ultra features a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel 5x Periscope, and a 10-megapixel 3x Telephoto. Non-Ultra models of the lineup will also receive notable camera improvements.

For the next year, the South Korean tech giant has pretty big plans. Samsung is said to replace the current 12-megapixel Ultrawide and 10-megapixel Telephoto with new 50-megapixel solutions. The next Ultra might also ditch boxy design, reducing the sharp corners.

This week, Samsung has begun rolling out the July 2024 security update for Galaxy devices, starting with the Galaxy A55 smartphone. This time, the company has prioritized the Galaxy A series instead of flagships. More Galaxy smartphones will join the update list in the coming days or weeks.

Alongside the update, Samsung has released details about the July 2024 security patch and updated its list of devices receiving software updates. Notably, the Galaxy A21s has reached the end of its update cycle and is no longer eligible for new software updates.

The July security patch addresses over 55 issues, including 4 critical and 21 high-level vulnerabilities in Android fixed by Google. Additionally, Samsung has resolved 33 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE), focusing on One UI Home, System Property, System UI, Filter Provider, Secure Folder, Configuration Message, IMS service, Knox, MTP app, and more, to further enhance device security.

This week, Samsung has expanded the June 2024 security patch to more Galaxy devices across various countries. This includes devices like the Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy M15 5G, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy A55.

Furthermore, Samsung has rolled out the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A13 4G, A14, and A25 5G in the Middle East, and for the Galaxy A52 4G in Brazil.

Reports suggest that Samsung may integrate user interface enhancements from One UI 6 Watch into One UI 7. Rumors indicate that improvements and UI changes seen in Samsung’s Wear OS 5 skin could appear in the Android 15 update for Galaxy phones.

Stay tuned for more updates as Samsung continues to improve its devices and user experience through ongoing updates and enhancements.
