Samsung Software update service getting new update

Samsung periodically releases software updates for its smartphones and tablets, which bring new features and more security to the devices. Samsung recommends keeping your device software up to date and backing up any important data before updating the software.

Recently, the company has started rolling out a new update for the Samsung Software update service, which comes with some improvements to provide a better user experience.

To be mentioned, this latest update of the Samsung Software update service comes with version number  3.7.23  and package size of 4.92 MB.

Software updates are provided to strengthen the security of the device and protect personal information. However, updates are device dependant and not every Samsung device will run the latest Android version.

The software updates come in two general types:

  • Operating system updates
  • Security updates

OS update: This update section includes major updates that are based on Google’s latest Android version.

Security update: Security update mainly include monthly security patches which enhance system stability and performance of the device.

Samsung smartphone users can manually check for updates by the steps mentioned below:

  • Go to your device’s Settings
  • Tap Software update.
  • Now hit the Download and install button
  • If new software is available, you can choose Install now, Schedule install, or Later.
