Samsung’s latest update improves fall detection, adds watch faces to older Galaxy Watches

Recently, Samsung announced the new software experience coming to Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active 2, and Galaxy Watch 3. These updates enhance the health features of older watches and bring some custom features to the Galaxy Watch 4.

Samsung believes in putting the best mobile experience in the hands of as many people as possible, which includes companies’ commitment to providing continuous software support to previous models of the Galaxy Watch. That’s why Samsung has announced that the One UI 4 is available to give Galaxy users a superior mobile experience.

Galaxy Watch has improved fall detection

The biggest changes in this update are the ones that deal with health. Samsung watches have a life-saving fall detection tool, but this new update helps to improve it so that it can detect falls when a person is standing still.

Previously, the Galaxy Watch 4 could detect a fall when someone was running or working the other way, but now it will be able to do so if someone falls and does nothing at all. It’s done the way you want it to, so if you have a family member who may be in danger of fainting suddenly and need extra care, Samsung’s Galaxy watches might be ideal.

Updated Group Challenge

Speaking of family members, Samsung has also introduced a new “group challenge” feature that allows people to compare performance levels between selected friends or family members. Apple is already doing this with Apple Health, and now Samsung is offering the same feature of its ecosystem.

Perfect Watch Face

Finally, Samsung added to the selection of 10 new watches. These came with the Galaxy Watch initially, but the company is replacing them with older watches so users can enjoy the same software on all clocks.

You will never have One UI Watch on those old watches, remember, but Samsung does a great job of keeping them as close and modern as possible while using two different wearable operating systems.

In other knowledge, Samsung is also rolled out a new update for the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra, bringing Android 12 and One UI 4 to its latest flagships. Samsung has also released the rollout plan that has been removed since then has been shared with the company to add those updates to its many older devices in January.

November 2024 security update for Samsung Galaxy S24 series in South Korea arrives with One UI builds given below.

  • S921NKSU4AXK4 – Galaxy S24
  • S926NKSU4AXK4 – Galaxy S24 Plus
  • S928NKSU4AXK4 – Galaxy S24 Ultra

November 2024 security update is now available on more Galaxy S24 devices, bringing important fixes from both Google and Samsung. It resolves 52 security issues in total, with 38 of those being considered high-level by Google. There’s also one problem that doesn’t affect Galaxy phones.

Moreover, Samsung has worked on 13 additional fixes, mostly around features like user profiles, Dex Mode, Galaxy Watch, and settings. This update will make sure your Galaxy devices stay safe and work better.

After months of waiting, Samsung has finally begun rolling out the stable One UI 6 Watch update based on Wear OS 5 to eligible Galaxy Watches. The Galaxy Watch 6 series is the first to receive the stable One UI 6 Watch update.

As announced, Samsung has started the One UI 6 Watch update rollout with Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. This update is currently live for these watch users in Korea and the company will soon expand it.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch Classic users can verify this major update via firmware ending with BXJ5. They will have to download a 1.8GB package to install the update.

Samsung One UI 6 Watch

One UI 6 Watch update brings several new features to improve health, fitness, and overall smartwatch use. It adds the Energy Score, which gives you a score based on sleep, activity, heart rate, and more, with tips to help you improve.

Sleep tracking now includes details like movement, heart rate, and respiratory rate, in addition to Sleep Apnea detection. The update also includes New fitness features like the Race option, which compares your running or cycling performance to past workouts, and custom Workout Routines based on your goals.

The update also offers new watch faces, like the Simple Digital and Ultra Info Board. Users can now users Double pinch gestures to answer the call, dismiss alarms, and more.

Notably, the November 2024 update fixes 52 vulnerabilities in Android and Samsung software. Google has patched 38 high-level issues, and one CVE doesn’t apply to Galaxy devices.
