How Samsung One UI 4 maximizes limit of free storage with Ram Plus on your Galaxy Note 20

Galaxy Note 20 One UI 4.0 Ram Plus

A few days ago, Samsung started the Android 12 Beta program for two older flagship smartphone lineups – the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 in the US and UK. At the same time, the company has begun rolling out the first Beta update to UK and India as well.

As confirmed by Samsung, the One UI 4 Beta program will be available in seven countries including China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, US, and UK. Now, it looks like the company will soon be expanding Android 12 Beta for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 series devices.

Surprisingly, in line with Android 12, the One UI 4 is focused on making its key changes. There are very comprehensive updates to device privacy and maintenance, but for the most part, these changes are small on the board.

Here is one of the great features of Ram Plus or Virtual RAM in the latest beta of Android 12 based on One UI 4.0 for Galaxy Note 20 devices.

To put it bluntly, “RAM Plus” is a feature that uses part of your device’s storage to create “Virtual RAM” that maximizes the limit on your Galaxy smartphone. For Samsung Galaxy high-end smartphones with more than 8-12GB of RAM, this is probably not even a problem, but for low-end devices with hardware limitations, this can be a real way to increase or improve normal performance levels.

In One UI 4.0 Beta, you cannot actually disable “RAM Plus” as it is automatically enabled. You can see how much space is used by going to Settings> Device Care> Memory. Here you will be able to clear or unmount RAM and see how much “real memory” is accepted when the system deems it necessary.

We’re not sure if this will go down or off automatically if you run out of space, but it seems to be installed at 4GB. It’s also good to note that this is not the same as physically adding 4GB of RAM to your device, but it can help if complex apps use system resources or you want to play more complex games and enjoy sacrificing other levels of app performance.

It is noteworthy that this has been released for some Samsung insiders, including the Galaxy A52 and even the brand new Z Fold 3, but joining the flagship One UI 4.0 can extend it to all devices.

If you want to try this latest set of additional features – as well as add-ons – you will need to sign up for the One UI 4.0 Beta with the Samsung members app. Although this update includes a number of bug fixes, performance may sometimes be unstable due to texture appearances and delays in other applications when you scroll.

Samsung and Google’s close partnership doesn’t need any elaboration. The friendship isn’t limited to services, as both firms work across an ecosystem. However, it doesn’t stop Samsung from partnering with OpenAI in favor of better service.

As the AI phone market is growing rapidly, OpenAI may innovate further. Google doesn’t lag, but there’s still room for a potential alliance. Apple Intelligence-like features might be deployed on Galaxy phones after Samsung’s partnership.
