Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G gets second One UI 4 Beta update, December 2021 patch

Last month, Samsung announced the One UI 4 Beta program for the Galaxy Z Flip 4G/5G variants and released the first Beta update to the participants. Now, the company is rolling out the latest update to the Galaxy Z Flip One UI 4 Beta members, which brings fixes to several bugs and CVEs.

While the One UI 4 Beta program for Galaxy Z Flip 4G and 5G is limited to the Korean market, Samsung is rapidly working to provide stable Android 12 firmware to consumers globally. As of now, the stable One UI 4.0 rollout has begun for Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

One UI 4 Beta 2 – Changelog

• Security Patch Level – December 2021
• Problems that do not vibrate when notifications such as text messages or Kakao Talk are triggered
• Problems with the font size changing and the screen getting bigger after the update
• Applying translation of some phrases in Do Not Disturb mode
• Fingerprint not working issue in 3rd party apps
• Routine+App usage conditions Button setting behavior issue (P211129-04046)
• When setting a picture on the lock screen, the screen changes to a black screen (requires a background screen reset after the beta 2nd update) P211129-04076
• Security patch applied (security patch level December 1)
• Fixed other minor issues

Known issue

• Weather detail page does not work when opening folder after selecting weather alarm on cover screen
• Z Flip 5G only:
  • If you are not logged in to the OneDrive app, the app may be deleted after upgrading.
  • In this case, please use the OneDrive app after downloading it from the Galaxy Store or Play Store.

One UI 4 Features: Samsung’s Android 12 update brings a number of new features including a modified user interface with renewed icons and Material You theming system. In addition, the One UI 4.0 also improves all of the stock apps, adds more lock screen widgets, quick settings toggles to turn off the camera and mic access and more.
