Samsung Galaxy Fold Update: December 2021 security patch released in the US
Introduced way back in March 2019, the Galaxy Fold is Samsung’s first-generation foldable smartphone. The company had shipped this foldable screen handset with Android 9 (Pie) based One UI 1 pre-installed. Later on, the device had received the Android 10 and Android 11 upgrades so far.

Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Fold models are eligible of getting the third Android OS upgrade, which will be the Android 12-based One UI 4.0. Beta testing on select Galaxy devices is underway, while the Galaxy Fold owners have to wait until at least January/February next year.

December 2021 security patch – US Unlocked
Samsung is now releasing the December 2021 security patch to the first-gen Galaxy Fold foldable smartphone in the US, without carrier branding.
- Firmware version – F900U1UES6FUL1
With the latest security patch update, the company bringing fixes to 5 critical, 22 high and 3 moderate CVEs from Google.
Among Google’s latest CVEs fixes, Samsung has already patched 1 issue with the previous security release, while 3 of them are not applicable to Galaxy devices.
If you want to check for the latest update manually, head to your device Settings tap on Software updates and finally hit the Download and install button.

Initially, the Korean tech giant has begun the December 2021 security update rollout for the Galaxy Fold in France and Fold 5G in the UK.
