Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motors are two big names in their fields. Currently, these two companies are planning to commercialize robots this year. The robot industry is expected to growl with the involvement of major domestic manufacturers.

In recent years, Samsung Electronics was focusing more on robot research and development and this is the first time when the tech maker has attempted to mass-produce robots, which will start sometime in April. The robot is likely to launch in the first half of this year.

Moreover, the Samsung Driving Assistance Robot is a service robot. It is meant to help patients or seniors who have difficulty walking to help walk comfortably. In addition, people can also use it for industrial purposes, such as lifting heavy loads.

Samsung Wearable Robots shipment price is calculated in the millions of KRW. Whereas the initial volume is thousands of units. Samsung recently promoted a robotics organization to a team. The business will be expanded to the global market, including Korea.

Moving on, Hyundai Motor Company is also working on robots. It will showcase various robot technologies at CES 2022 that will be held in Las Vegas this month. On the other hand, LG Electronics is expected to introduce more diversified new robot products in 2022 as well.

Since these companies – Samsung, Hyundai, and LG are gearing up to expand in the robotic field, it seems that the domestic robot market will also grow. Notably, the government has also announced that they will boost the supply of various robots and increase the size of the domestic robot market to KRW 15 trillion next year.

An official from the Korea Association of Robot Industry said –

“It is a good sign that large companies are interested in the robot market and expand their business. Mutual growth is expected as large corporations have many business agreements with many small and medium-sized robot companies.”
