Once again, Samsung defeated Google by launching the next month’s Android security patch for Galaxy devices IN ADVANCE. Instead of a flagship lineup, Samsung decided to begin its January 2022 security patch update rollout with a famous mid-ranger — Galaxy A51.

Identified via build version – A515FXXU5EUL3, the January 2022 security update rollout is taking place in Russia and Malaysia, for a few amount of users. Meanwhile, neither Samsung updated its Galaxy A51 Russian software update support page nor shared the details of its January 2022 security patch.

Usually, Samsung releases the details of its new security patch in the first week of every month, therefore, we can expect the same in this can. Well, it’s obviously confirmed that the company bringing fixes for a lot of CVEs from Google and SVEs from Samsung for enhanced system stability.

Currently, the update rollout is in the initial stage and Samsung should take some time in order to make it available to more markets. Meanwhile, you can check for the updates manually by navigating towards device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.

Galaxy A51 Android 12

Launched back in March 2020, the Galaxy A51 came pre-installed with Android 10-based One UI 2.0. Later on, the company released the One UI 2.1 update based on Android 10, followed by the One UI 2.5 in late last year. Moving on, the device grabbed the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update earlier this year.

Talking specifically about the Galaxy A51, the device is now officially confirmed to receive the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in April 2022. To be mentioned, the update availability may differ for carrier-locked devices and as per regions.
