Samsung supports Red Cross to help communities affected by recent floods and extreme weather in BC. As Canada’s communities in British Columbia work to rebuild after a series of floods that led to the declaration of a regional emergency in November, Samsung Canada has donated $100,000 in support of ongoing relief efforts to the Canadian Red Cross.

Hundreds of assets are currently in clearance order, thousands BC. Residents were displaced. Nearly two months after the floods and devastating weather events in the province, the Red Cross continues to provide emergency relief services and assistance to the affected communities, including emergency shelter, beds, blankets and cleaning kits to affected persons.

The funds provided by Samsung support ongoing operations such as personalized Red Cross reception centers as well as mobile Red Cross emergency response teams, and are deployed to communities and evacuees who do not have access to specific sites or access virtual support.

Samsung Canada is committed to ongoing relief efforts, including long-term recovery of affected individuals and communities, in the event of an emergency and the need for immediate emergency relief. To learn more about the Canadian Red Cross and to donate to the relief efforts in British Columbia, visit redcross.ca.
