Be it software or hardware, Samsung Galaxy S22 comes with various amazing features and improvements over its predecessors. At the same time, the sturdy construction material is one of those many improvements made to the devices.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series is equipped with Armor Aluminum frames and Gorilla Glass Victus+. This makes the devices more durable than the Galaxy S21, at least theoretically. But that’s not really the case as a new test shows that the Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra are less durable than their predecessors.

In a recent development, YouTuber Allstate Protection Plans did the drop test of Galaxy S22 series smartphones. Below you can check the details of this test.

Samsung Galaxy S22 drop test:

According to the drop test video shared by YouTuber, the new S-series phones performed worst when dropped from 6 feet on concrete. All three models broke on the first drop.

The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Ultra are even unusable due to the severity of the glass damage. Although the S22+ gets cracked too, it was still possible to use the phone safely.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 drop test further shows that the devices disintegrate the first time even when dropped backside down from 6 feet. However, all three phones continued to function normally.

Moreover, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ suffered only minor damage, which the YouTuber attributed to the phone’s aluminum frame. On the other side, with more curved sides, the Galaxy S22 Ultra crashed at the corners and cracked its display.

The durability seems to have suffered as the new Ultra model adopts a more Galaxy Note-like design, unlike the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Similarly, the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus have switched the plastic backs used in the S21 for a glass back, resulting in decreased durability.
