US carriers rolling out February 2022 security patch to Samsung Galaxy S20

Last month, Samsung started sending the February 2022 Android security update for the carrier-locked Galaxy S20 smartphone users in the US. Meanwhile, the carrier unlocked models of the device are now only getting the latest software update in the US.

This update is released for almost all US network carriers, such as AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Comcast, Sprint, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy S20 February 2022 update comes with the following One UI build versions:

  • Galaxy S20 – G981U1UES2EVB3
  • Galaxy S20+ – G986U1UES2EVB3
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra – G988U1UES2EVB3

It aims to improve the security and stability of your device’s system. In addition, this Samsung Galaxy S20 update fixes 60 vulnerabilities and exploits. However, the official support page mentions that it brings fixes for 2 critical, 29 high, and 15 moderate levels of issues and exploit.

Further, if you are one of the carrier-unlocked Galaxy S20 users in the US, you can manually check and download the latest available update by navigating Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install. Now follow the on-screen instructions to get it on your phone.

Before you begin downloading the update, make sure to prepare a backup for your important data. However, this update will not move any of your files, we are just suggesting you have extra safety measures. Also, do start downloading it when your phone has sufficient battery.
