Samsung has just launched the Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy A73 smartphones with a pre-installed Android 12-based One UI 4.1 software system and the promise of providing four major Android OS updates along with five years of security patch updates.

For a couple of years, the Korean tech giant is delivering three Android updates to its flagship Galaxy devices. But last month, the company officially announced that eligible Samsung smartphones will get four years of major Android switches along with five years of security patches.

Samsung used to give this rich treatment only to its flagship devices till now but the mid-range devices have also been added to the list. The company has already confirmed that select Galaxy A series devices will also be eligible for the major shift.

However, currently, this software update policy has only been announced for Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy A73 smartphones. The company may also deliver the same treatment to last year’s Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphone users.

To be mentioned, since the three new devices are launched with pre-installed Android 12, they will get major updates till Android 16 and then 1-year security patches.
