Samsung One UI 4.1 Enhanced Privacy Settings
Google has introduced in Android 12 a number of privacy settings, including a new privacy dashboard, visual indicators for camera and microphone access, and the ability to share approximate location with toggles and apps to enable/disable the camera and microphone.
Samsung has integrated all of these features into One UI 4, the latest version of the custom skin based on Android 12, but the implementation is a little different. If you just got the latest Galaxy S22 series device or have a Samsung phone with One UI 4.0 or higher. Here’s what you need to know about the new privacy features in One UI 4 and how to use them.

Privacy Dashboard
Samsung One UI 4.1 give users to access all the new privacy settings on their Galaxy device by going to the Privacy section in the Settings app. Samsung’s implementation of new privacy features is a little different. One UI 4.1 on the Galaxy S22 Ultra integrates into the main privacy settings instead of highlighting Android 12’s new privacy dashboard feature.
All permission usage information, as shown in the Privacy Dashboard on Google Pixel devices running Android 12, appears at the top of the Privacy Settings on Galaxy devices running One UI 4.1. The graph shows the number of apps that have been accessing the camera, microphone, and device location permissions for the past 24 hours.
Tapping on each of the three options to view detailed usage history, including the names of the apps that have accessed each license, the access time, and the app’s background or when the license was granted while using the app.
Additionally, you can tap on the Settings in the upper left corner to enable/disable permission access for the apps you have installed. Moreover, you can click on the ‘All Permissions’ button at the bottom of the graph to see similar details.
Samsung One UI 4.1 has a new Permission Manager
At the bottom of the Privacy Dashboard Features, you will find the ‘Permission Manager’ option. As its name suggests, the Permission Manager allows you to manage access to permissions on an application-by-application basis.

- Then enable/disable those permissions for all the apps listed on the page.
It is worth noting that the One UI 4 also has tiles with quick settings for camera and microphone access. However, tiles are not enabled by default. To enable Quick Settings tiles.
- Swipe down twice from the notification shade to open Quick Settings.
- And Press the ‘+’ icon to add new tiles.
Then drag the Camera and Microphone access tile to the Quick Settings page and click Done. You can now tap on the Camera & Microphone Access Quick Settings tile to easily enable/disable camera and microphone access for apps.
In addition to the camera and microphone access toggles, the section also includes a clipboard access toggle, it is disabled by default. But you can enable it to receive alerts when the app accesses the contents of your phone clipboard.
Although it covers all the new privacy features in One UI 4.1, the privacy settings include some other options provided by previous software releases.
- Samsung Customization Settings
- Android Personalization Service
- Google Autofill Settings
- Location History Settings
- Activity Control, and more
