How to use Samsung phones’ hole-punch notification LED indicator via aodNotify
Samsung launches various smartphones equipped with sAMOLED displays that make it possible to use the Always On Display feature. On the other side, the under-display camera tech is still limited to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 as every Samsung phone features a hole-punch or notch display.
Well, in this article, I’m going to guide you on how we can take advantage of that irritating hole-punch on your Samsung phone. Called aodNotify, the app lets users easily add a notification light/LED directly to their Samsung phone’s Always On Display.

Samsung x aodNotify
aodNotify is not an application developed by Samsung for Galaxy devices. However, it works on most of the flagship Galaxy devices such as the latest Galaxy S22 series as well as the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 10, and Galaxy A52 devices.
- Update [Mar. 28]: aodNotify app could be working on the recently launched Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73 smartphones.
The functionality of aodNotify is to allow users to select different notification light styles and show the notification light around the camera cutout. As the aodNotify works alongside the Always On Display, it has minimal battery consumption.
In case you don’t like to use the Samsung Always On Display and keep it turned off, you can still use the aodNotify to show the notification light/LED around the hole punch. Moreover, the notification preview feature allows you to directly check important notifications without waking your smartphone.
- aodNotify is available to Download via Google Play Store
