To be noted, the smartphone is the rebranded version of Galaxy A42 5G, which was unveiled last year in select countries.

In addition to this, the phone comes preinstalled with the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 out of the box. This makes it compatible with major Android OS upgrades up to Android 13. And the device will also get new Android patches for four years along with Samsung Knox security.

As per Samsung’s upgrade policy, the Galaxy 42 devices are eligible for two generations of Android OS upgrades. To be mentioned, the upcoming Android 12-based One UI 4.0 will be the first major Android Switch on this device.

Google has officially released its latest version of the mobile operating system, Android 12 on October 4. Besides, Samsung has also started to develop its fourth-generation custom skin, One UI 4 based on Android 12.
