Samsung Digital Car key now supports BMW and Kia cars too!

Last year, Samsung announced the Digital Car Key feature for select flagship Galaxy devices. Be mentioned, the feature was initially available for just the Genesis GV60 car model, while it now supports more products from two reputed brands including BMW & Kia.

According to the information, the company announced that the Galaxy device’s Digital Car Key feature will support BMW’s premium 1 to 8 series, X5 to X7 series, Z4, i4, IX3 & IX series models. In addition, Kia’s Niro model and Genesis’ G90 car models will also be supported.

As mentioned in the supporting document, Genesis GV60 & G90 cars work with NFC as well as UWB or Ultra Wide-Band technology. On the other hand, BMW & Kia models support only NFC technology to control the cars. With Digital Car Key feature, you can lock or unlock your cars, open the trunk, start the engine, and so on.

The Digital Car Key function is available through the Samsung Pass app on Galaxy Store. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the Digital Car Key only works with the Galaxy S21 series, Note 20 Ultra, Z Fold 2, Fold 3, Flip 3 & the new Galaxy S22 series.
