Samsung Micro LED TVs are experiencing difficulties in securing marketability this year, and they have not performed the last year very well too. Although it’s a very good TV with nice and vibrant color enhancing quality but is more expensive.

The inews24 revealed that on the 15th of April 2022, market research company ‘Omdia’ predicted that this year’s shipment of Micro LEDs will be next to nothing. Further told that in comparison to the micro-LED the LCD and OLED TVs are performing well and are expected to ship 250 million units and 10 million units respectively.

The research firm calculated the shipment of micro-LEDs in units of 1000. However, this is just forecasted information that is based on previous selling data. This is not cemented information and has likely half a chance to be true, and can change in the future.

Why micro-LED selling is less?

The bigger factor hindering the marketability of micro LED TVs maybe their price. The last year’s price for 110-inches of micro LEDs is about 170 million won, which is even more expensive than a luxury apartment.

What does Samsung need to do?

The 110-inch of TV covers a wall area of about 3.3 square meters and the price per square meter of the area is more expensive when compared with the TVs of different companies. Samsung needs to change its strategy and need deal with the price of a display panel or reduce the dimensity of the display even though they are very eye pleasuring and best in class.

It seems that the company has already started working on it and could launch its 90-inch and 80-inch models very soon in the same year.
