Samsung releases May 2022 security update for carrier-locked Galaxy S21 in the US

Samsung has dispatched the May 2022 Android security patch update for the Galaxy S21 smartphone users in the United States. The update comes with better system security and stability to maintain the user experience.

Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy S21 May 2022 update comes with fixes for various issues and exploits from Google and Samsung to improve the overall device performance. These include 7 Critical, 23 High, and 3 Moderate levels of CVEs.

Previously, Samsung said that it will release Galaxy S22 camera features for Galaxy S21 and other Galaxy device users with May 2022 security patch. These features include Improved Night portraits, Improved/supported auto framing function, Improved video call effect, Support for auto framing effects, and Improved App Store Camera app quality.

Moving on, the Samsung Galaxy S21 May 2022 update holds the One UI build version G991USQU5CVDB in the US. While the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra users can identify it through firmware version G996USQU5CVDB and G998USQU5CVDB respectively.

If you are a carrier-locked Galaxy S21 user in the US, you can check and download the fresh software update through the Settings of your phone. From here, tap on Software update followed by Download and install. Now follow the on-screen prompts to bring the new changes to your phone.
