on

Samsung One UI 4.1 has updated some of the indicator icons, which facilitates the smartphone user a lot. Indicator icons appear on the status bar at the top of the screen. We regularly watch them on the top of the screen but sometimes get confused or unable to identify some specific one of them. Even I too, sometimes have misinterpreted the indicator symbols. As we all know these icons are of utter importance to the smartphone user and could create a mess if misunderstood.

Indicator icons?

There are several types of indicator icons, such as network indicator icons, calling icons, messaging icons, vibration mode icons, S Pen icons, battery level charging, an error occurred, caution required, and more.

The network indicator icon consists of the No signal icon, icon with signal strength, and roaming indicator which normally works outside the network service area. Some more of them are shows GPRS, EDGE, and UMTS networks connected. These types of icons are the most general form of icons displayed on the status bar.

The HSDPA network is shown with capital H, and 4G indicates a 4G network. The 5G symbol shows the connected LTE network, the dark-filled 5G icon is an indicator that your smartphone is presently connected to the 5G network.

Limitations with certain applications?

The status bar has some limitations with the particular applications that appear on the top. Several times you need to drag it down from the top of the screen. Some indicator icons appear only when you open the notification panel. Many times the network display icon also depends on the network service provider. So don’t get confused.
