Samsung to deploy ‘Fitsam’ a wearable medical robot

Samsung is all set to deploy its first robot product in August 2022. It is a kind of wearable medical robot that is known as ‘Fitsam’. The name originated from the patent that Samsung has registered with the Korea Intellectual Property Office.

The device is categorized as GEMS (Gait Enhancing and Motivating System). This wearable robot can be attached to the ankle, knee, or hips to enhance the muscle strength of the user with walking difficulties. Samsung has completed the FDA approval last month for its global launch.

Samsung has patented a total of 25 robot products that assist humans in housekeeping, education, and sports. Its aim is not limited to the home ground but also to launch its robots abroad.

Let me tell you additionally that Samsung Electronics has earlier presented this robot in the year 2020 at the Consumer Electronics Show. It has been demonstrated on a visitor, which you can clearly see in the image above. The man is walking upstairs wearing that robotic aid. Many companies like SK Hynix and Hyundai are also competing in the segment to launch automated service robots.
