Samsung denies Exynos discontinuation rumor after multiyear Qualcomm agreement

Today, Samsung announced its second quarter 2022 earning results, reporting a historical high in DS Division and solid year-over-year growth in the smartphone department. Shortly after the business revelation, Samsung refused rumors of killing the Exynos processors after the multiyear Qualcomm agreement.

Samsung said, “It is not true at all,” the company’s self-developed Exynos processor won’t be discontinued. Besides this, the company disclosed that it is reorganizing the system-on-chip (SoC) business model, and is pursuing a plan to strengthen its competitiveness in the mid-to long-term.”

It’s worth mentioning that Qualcomm’s CEO has recently confirmed a multi-year agreement with Samsung. Due to the agreement, the upcoming Galaxy S23 series will exclusively use the Snapdragon chipsets worldwide, while it will be continued in the future as well.
