Here’s why Samsung apps getting One UI 5 and One UI 4.1.1 support ahead of release

After One UI 4.1, Samsung is going to release One UI 4.1.1 and One UI 5.0 for its eligible devices. One UI 4.1.1 based on Android 12L is confirmed to be released with Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 on August 10 while One UI 5 release date is not yet confirmed but we can expect that it will release by October this year.

But even before the release of the next two UIs, the Korean tech giant started making One UI 4.1.1 and One UI 5 support available for its stock apps. Some apps including Clockface, Galaxy Themes, MultiStar, Home Up, and Nice Catch received One UI 4.1.1 support. On the other side, One Hand Operation + and Blockchain Wallet apps got One UI 5.0 support.

Looking at all this, we can expect that Samsung will provide this support to more apps in the future too. But the question is, why is Samsung providing One UI 4.1.1 and One UI 5.0 support for its stocks apps before the official release? If you are thinking that by getting their support, you will get some new features in your apps, then it is not so.

The answer is that Samsung is going to release these two One UIs in the coming few days or months, that company’s aim is to make its stock apps compatible according to them so that when that update will be released for the smartphone, the app will not stop working. That’s only the reason behind releasing support for Galaxy apps.

One UI 4.1.1

One UI 4.1.1 is confirmed to be based on Android 12L. Obviously, it will some significant features for eligible devices. The company is gearing up to release the One UI 4.1.1 on August 10, 2022. However, it is not confirmed yet whether the company will roll out this update to non-foldable or not.

One UI 5.0

As per the report, Samsung started One UI 5.0 based on the Android 13 beta program internally. Now, we can expect that the company will release One UI 5.0 public beta anytime for its eligible devices, firstly for Galaxy S22 series smartphones. You can read more here…
