Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is official as Samsung’s most durable and feature-packed watch yet

Samsung has officially launched Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 at today’s Galaxy Unpacked event. However, the new-gen foldable smartphones are not the only highlight of the event, it also launches the all-new Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series which includes Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

It’s worth mentioning that replacing the old ‘Classic’ model, the company has introduced the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro this year. With this, Samsung has also ditched the iconic physical rotating bezel.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro specifications:

Display:

The size of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is large and it is only available in 45mm. It features a 1.36-inch AMOLED display that offers a 450 x 450 pixels resolution and is made up of sapphire glass. So if you are someone whose hand suits a large watch, then you should definitely go for it.

Processor:

Samsung’s Exynos W920 processor powers the new wearable. This is the same chip that comes under the Galaxy Watch 4 series. On the Watch 5 Pro, this chipset is paired with 16GB of internal storage.

Battery:

The new smartwatch presents a significant change in battery life. It sports a 590mAh battery that is capable to last up to 80 hours on a single charge. Also, it supports 10W fast charging, which is a huge upgrade as the highest charging speed of the Galaxy watch was only 5W so far.

Software:

For the Galaxy Watch 5 series, the company has introduced a new feature-rich custom OS – Wear OS 3.5-based One UI Watch 4.5. It brings a bunch of new watch faces, a dual SIM feature, a new UI for the Contacts app, QWERTY layouts for the Samsung Keyboard, and much more.

Features:

The device comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It supports NFC connectivity, GPS, and the same BioActive sensor used in its predecessor, featuring ECG and heart-rate sensors, a blood pressure sensor, and a BIA sensor.

Besides this, the watch also comes with awaited temperature measurement sensor, improved sleep tracking with coaching, and three new Health features including Route Workout, Turn-by-Turn Directions, and TrackBack.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro availability and price:

Samsung is offering two color variants for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro wearables including Black Titanium and Grey Titanium. Its price starts at $449 for the Bluetooth version and $499 for the LTE version.

The pre-orders are already up on the official Samsung website and the sale will begin on August 26.
