Samsung officially debuted the final version of its Android 12-based custom One UI software with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 devices. Entitled One UI 4.1.1, the latest stable One UI iteration brings new foldable-focussed features, better animations, and further system optimizations.

The same thing has been claimed by tipster IceUniverse, and the video embedded in the Tweet also showcases animations of the One UI 4.1.1 software, based on Android 12L. It’s worth mentioning that the One UI 5.0 Beta is already available for the S22 series in select countries, while the 4.1.1 is a minor version upgrade.

According to Ice, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with the new One UI 4.1.1 version surpasses the system smoothness and stability of Galaxy S22 Ultra and Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 uses Android 12L as the base OS, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra runs Android 12-based One UI 4.1.

“MIX Fold debuted with MIUI 13 Fold, well, who cares – China?”

Aside from software and operating system, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a very big advantage when it comes to hardware over the Galaxy S22 series. Up from the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the latest Samsung foldable device is powered by a 4nm-based Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC.

One UI 5.0 Animations

Seeing the One UI 4.1.1 animations and smoothness in the video, consumers also shared their personal feedback as they have not noticed any major improvements over the One UI 4.1, at least in animations. Meanwhile, the major One UI 5.0 upgrade focuses on bringing faster animations and system smoothness.

Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1

In late May, the US chip maker announced the new Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, which has a super-core Cortex-X2, large-core A710, and the small-core A510. It offers around 10% increased performance compared to the standard variant.

In addition to this, the new Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 features Qualcomm aptX Lossless audio technology, 5G downlink rate up to 10Gbps, up to 200MP camera sensor support, as well as Android Ready SE certification as well as 8K HDR video and 64MP photos support.
