Over 500 million old Samsung phones getting GPS fix update: Report

Samsung provides regular updates to improve the performance of its newly launched devices but what about older devices? If there is a problem with them, who will solve it? Nothing to worry about, as Samsung does not forget to take care of its old devices. Samsung has started rolling out the update for several older devices since the beginning of this month.

According to the report, Samsung is releasing a new firmware update for more than 500 million older Galaxy smartphones including Galaxy S5 Neo, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S6,  Galaxy A7, Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 8, and more series.

The company is releasing a similar update to all the older devices, which fixes GPS connectivity issues to improve stability. At present, Samsung has not given any reason for releasing these GPS fix updates for the old devices, but it is obvious that this update is being rolled out due to some security flaws and issues.

It is worth noting that the update cycle of the older devices for which the company is rolling out the update has already been completed and Samsung’s update policy and promise have also been fulfilled, but thanks to the company’s goodwill that it is still releasing updates to enhance the performance of these older devices.
