Launched back in Q1 2019, the Samsung Galaxy A50 smartphone came pre-equipped with the Android 9.0-based One UI 1.x out of the box. Later on, the company delivered the Android 10-based One UI 2 update in May 2020, followed by Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update in March 2021.

Unlike its successor, the Galaxy A50 is not eligible for getting three major Android OS upgrades, which means the device will spend its remaining time on the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 software system. However, the company is committed to bringing four years of regular security updates to the Galaxy A50.

July 2022 security patch – India
Galaxy A50 smartphone users in India have started getting a new firmware update, which brings the July 2022 security patch.
According to Samsung, the July 2022 patch brings fixes for 32 CVEs from Google for the One UI software system as part of offering better user experiences.
