Second Samsung One UI 5.0 Beta/Android 13 rolling out to Galaxy S22 in the US, India, UK, Poland, Germany and South Korea

It’s a big day for the Galaxy S22 series consumers as Samsung has finally made the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta program available in more eligible countries including the UK, Poland and India. At the same time, the company has debuted the most-awaited “second One UI 5.0 Beta” update for the users in:

  • The US, Germany and South Korea

According to consumers from Poland, UK and India, the One UI 5.0 Beta program is now open in their countries for the Galaxy S22 series. Interested participants have enrolled for the Beta testing and Samsung is now pushing the latest second test firmware gradually.

The Android 13-based second One UI 5.0 Beta brings new features and various bug fixes for the Galaxy S22 series devices. The newly added features include Smart Suggestions Widget, Maintenance mode (a.k.a. Repair mode) and Privacy detection.

On the other hand, the bugs that have been fixed with the second One UI 5.0 Beta embeds Bixby Routine Life Style Mode, home screen, auto rotation function, S Pen breakdown, copying forwarding in Messages, shared link, quick panel notification window, pattern lock, power saving mode, touch sensitivity and more.

New features

Smart Suggestions Widget

  • A widget that suggests useful apps or features has been added.

Maintenance mode

  • The maintenance mode protects personal information while others use, my smartphone, such as mobile phone repair. In maintenance mode, you cannot access personal data in photos, messages, accounts, and only apps installed by default.

Privacy Detection

  • The share panel will let you know when you attempt to share photos that contain sensitive information, such as credit cards, ID cards, or passports, so you can reconsider whether you really want to share them.

Bugs that have been fixed

  • Added Bixby Routine Life Style Mode
  • Fixed the issue that occurs sometimes on the HOME screen
  • Fixed the issue that cannot be automatically rotated sometimes
  • Modified SPen’s breakdown
  • Fixed the issues that does not operate copying/forwarding in the Samsung, Message app
  • Fixed the issue for shared link sometimes
  • Fixed the issue that appears to be empty on the quick panel notification window
  • Fixed the issue that cannot be unlocked by lock screens/patterns
  • Fixed the issue that cut off during screen capture
  • Fixed the issue that does not operate power saving mode
  • Fixed the issue that an app media player on the lock screen is not displayed
  • Adjustment of touch sensitivity
  • Fixed the problems related to Bixby Routine

Aside from adding new features and bug fixes, the changelog of the second One UI 5.0 Beta mentions some known issues that could occur when testing. The first issue is related to the Wallet app, as you need to reinstall it, and the same problem with Samsung Wallet Digital Car Key.

Known issues

  • If you don’t update the Samsung Wallet app, it can be automatically removed in the new OS version. Then, you need to re-install Samsung Wallet app by manual.
  • There may be an error in the Samsung Wallet Digital Key (Car UWB Key), operation. If an error occurs, please delete the digital key and re-register it,

Second Android 13-based Samsung One UI 5.0 Beta can be identified through build version ZVHK for the Galaxy S22 series devices. As the update rollout is happening in phases, the availability of this new update may vary as per regions and carriers.

OpenAI eyes AI integration on Samsung phones like Apple Intelligence

Apple collaborated with OpenAI to power Apple Intelligence features. The ChatGPT maker continues to create obstacles for Google. In a recent move, OpenAI discussed a potential AI partnership with Samsung.

TheInformation (via Reuters) reported that OpenAI has recently discussed powering AI features on Samsung-made devices. It seems the ChatGPT-maker wishes an AI partnership with Samsung to expand its reach in multiple folds.

The company is considering developing a web browser to rival Google’s Chrome. OpenAI recently introduced its search engine called SearchGPT. It is available to limited users alongside internal testers and strategic partners.

Samsung and Google’s close partnership doesn’t need any elaboration. The friendship isn’t limited to services, as both firms work across an ecosystem. However, it doesn’t stop Samsung from partnering with OpenAI in favor of better service.
