On January 14, 2022, Samsung filed a patent with the title ‘ Electronic Device Including Transparent Display”, which is officially approved on August 25, 2022. However, the company has published this patent with publication number WO/2022/17716 and international application number PCT/KR2022/000731.

According to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Samsung will use the transparent display device, mentioned in the patent for products like smartphones.

The patent described a new Samsung device with a transparent display on the back side of the smartphone. The second display may be fully or partially open and similar to AOD (Always On Display). The second display smartphone is not new at all, but the new patent shows a unique display design that may be used to showcase logos, messages at a glance, and more options.

As you can see from the below-mentioned images, the second display of the smartphone is sometimes seen placed on the right side of the camera module, in the middle of the smartphone like the company logo, and on the rear left side.

Aside from patent approval details, there is no information available on whether Samsung will launch such a type of smartphone or not. To know more, stay connected with us.
