Galaxy Watch 5 owners can now download second firmware update in the US

Last month, Samsung released the Galaxy Watch 5 series, bringing two new flagship smartwatches to the consumers. Shortly after the launch of these wearables, Samsung rolled out the first firmware update, while, the second is now available to download, as well, in the US, thanks to Verizon.

Both 40mm and 44mm models of the Galaxy Watch 5 are receiving the AVH6 update alongside the 45mm variant on the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The changelog of this update is available on the carrier’s support page, which mentions performance improvements for the newly launched smartwatches.

Software Versions:

  • Galaxy Watch 5: R905USQU1AVH6 (40mm) / R915USQU1AVH6 (44mm)
  • Galaxy Watch 5 Pro: R925USQU1AVH6 (45mm)

With the second firmware update, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro consumers should expect better performance and improved features of the Wear OS 3.5-based One UI Watch 4.5 operating system. Some unknown bugs and threats will also be fixed on your watch as soon as you install the second update.

September feature drop by Google

Earlier, Google announced that the Google Keep for Wear OS will get significant optimizations and new features. The new Tile feature of the Keep app will allow you to quickly dictate a note or checklist right from the wrist as well as the ability to manage created ones across devices.

Now, coming to the most important thing – customization. The US tech giant announced that Bitmoji is coming soon to your Wear OS watch face to give your mood a boost throughout the day. Using it, you will be able to use the Bitmoji you’ve designed on Snapchat, Bitmoji.com, or the Bitmoji mobile app.
