After a long wait, Samsung finally released the Expert RAW camera app for 2020’s flagship smartphones including Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Fold 2. But the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra does not support the Expert RAW Camera app in the Telephoto lens.

Expert RAW is a well-known Samsung camera application that delivers you a DSLR-like experience. It shoots in RAW format and enables Pro controls such as shutter speed and ISO control for the phone’s telephoto cameras.

The application was first launched for Galaxy S21 Ultra and then expanded to Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphones earlier this year. Samsung officially announced to bring this application to 2022’s premium models in the first half of this year but due to validation issues, the support was delayed.

Finally, three months after the promised schedule, Expert Raw has made its availability for these smartphones incomplete. Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra doesn’t support Expert RAW applications on the telephoto camera lens that’s because of old hardware.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphone features Hybrid Optic 10x telephoto lens, which does not output images in RAW Bayer format, whereas, the Expert RAW Camera app’s computational RAW is based on Bayer RAW.

However, you can seamlessly take advantage of the Samsung Expert RAW application through other lenses of Galaxy S20 Ultra. It is worth noting that the other two models of the lineup, such as the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ do not even get the Expert RAW camera app support.
