In the recent past, Google made it mandatory for OEMs to bring Seamless Updates functionality with devices launching with the Android 13 operating system. The Android maker pushed OEMs a lot of times to enable Seamless Updates, but, Samsung devices still lack this beneficial feature.

While asking about mandatory virtual A/B partition support with Android 13 devices, the One UI head didn’t clarify whether Seamless Updates coming with Galaxy S23 or not. However, it’s the first time when Samsung officially made a statement on one of the hottest topics – Seamless Updates for Galaxies.

Seamless Updates is a praiseworthy feature as it saves you time by installing a new firmware update while letting you continue to use the smartphone. Currently, every single Galaxy device lacks Seamless Updates, hence, you are required to stop using your phone for at least 15-20 minutes during installation.

Samsung’s One UI 6.0 update could be based on the Android 14 operating system. Google will start working on the next version of Android early next year, while, Samsung should begin the One UI 6 Beta Program sometime in July/August next year.
