Calling is the most common feature of any smartphone and this is what phones were developed for. The old calling feature should not be abandoned in front of many other new features, so with One UI 5.0, Samsung has also brought some new Phone Call features as well, let’s have a quick look at those functions on Galaxy S21 running the beta version.

Samsung smartphones already come with a bunch of features that other brands’ phones don’t have. Meanwhile, One UI 5.0 introduces some more Calling features to further provide users with more control over their phones. Integration of these features is really admirable.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Phone Call features: One UI 5.0

Custom caller background

For the first time on the stock dialer app, Samsung is bringing the ability to fully customize the call background on a contact-by-contact basis. You can add both images and videos as well as select your favorite picture from the Gallery.

Improved mini pop-up UI:

The mini pop-up menu that appears on your screen when you are using other functions of your phone, to let you answer or reject calls, sees improvements with the new software. The answer and decline buttons are now moved off to the side with no text labels and animated icons, which looks quite good.

Bixby Text Call:

Bixby Text Call is a completely new feature to One UI 5.0. If you are receiving a phone call during a meeting or a place where you can’t take calls, the Bixby Text Call will allow you to receive calls in any environment without being disruptive or missing a beat.
