Samsung’s October 2022 security update is now rolling out for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in various markets. The new Android and One UI security patches are included in the latest software update packed for the Note 20 duo.

Users of the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra “LTE” can identify October 2022 security update via PDA version numbers: N980FXXS5FVI4 and N985FXXS5FVI4.

On the other hand, consumers having 5G models can identify the same update via build versions: N981BXXS5FVI4 and N986BXXS5FVI4 for the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra.

Yesterday, the South Korean tech giant announced the October 2022 security patch details. According to the information, the October update brings fixes for over 40 security vulnerabilities; CVEs and SVEs.

October 2022 security patch now available for Galaxy Note 20 series in these markets:

  1. Caucasus countries
  2. Albania
  3. GernauGermany
  4. Greece
  5. Poland
  6. Portugal
  7. Tom Ukraine
  8. Southeast Europe
  9. Kazakhstan
  10. The Baltic region
  11. The Netherlands
  12. Uzbekistan.

Back in 2020, the company unveiled the Galaxy Note 20 series, which comes pre-loaded with Android 10-based One UI 2.5. It’s expected that the lineup will get its third and final major upgrade – Android 13-based One UI 5.0 later this year or early next year.

A few days ago, the company has started the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta testing program for the Galaxy S20 series, meanwhile, there’s no similar treatment for the 2020 Note flagship owners.

One UI 5.0 Features

Samsung’s One UI 5.0 iteration is based on the Android 13 operating system. It brings various new features and major improvements in the customization functionality such as Color Palette and Themed Icons.

Now, you have more choices in the Color Palette alongside plenty of new basic colors. Moreover, the Themed Icons are now not only available for select Samsung apps but also apply to Google & third-party apps too.
