On November 3, the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) held an event in Amsterdam, Newzealand to launch Matter and showcase its partners and their products, which includes Samsung Electronics as well.

CSA officially published the specifications of Matter 1.0 last month and now the partners have finally come together to show support. The new smart home standard Matter supports a wide variety of products including motion blinds, occupancy sensors, weather devices, smart plugs, door locks, lighting, gateways, platform components, and Matter-based software applications.

The company said that since the launch of Matter 1.0, 190 products have received certification or are in queue for testing and certification. In addition, 20 new companies have joined the CSA, with the number growing by the day. The interest among developers also seems high as Matter specs were downloaded over 4,000 times, and the SDK over 2,500 times.

The company also has test centers across nine countries that can help to get products certified. All these might not be possible when Matter didn’t have support from companies like Amazon, Apple, Google, Samsung, Signify, and many more.

Tobin Richardson, President and CEO of the Connectivity Standards Alliance said –

“This is a major inflection point for the IoT. As we become more connected and break down the walls between the digital and physical world, we need to work together to make those connections meaningful. Matter and our membership are tackling this challenge head-on. With collaboration, inclusiveness, and a deep sense of responsibility to the market and consumers, Matter has the power to create a more connected, safe, and useful Smart Home.”
