5 Secret features of Samsung One UI 5.0 Gallery
Samsung Gallery is the one place on our Galaxy smartphone where all photos, videos, slo-mos, and GIFs are saved. The Korean tech giant offers a bunch of customization options in the Gallery app so you can edit, share, create groups, and more. Android 13-based One UI 5.0 brings a host of new features and improvements that make Galaxy smartphones productive, optimized, and secure, as well as an improved Samsung Gallery app.
The company added new options to Gallery add to make it useful and easier. However, the One UI 5.0 changelog does not mention new features for the gallery but you can see some new features after installing the latest update. Let’s see the secret features of the Samsung One UI 5.0 Gallery app.

Enhanced Stories
With One UI 5.0, the company added several new features to the Stories section. You don’t need to enable any option to create stories as it is now automatically created. Now, you can add stories to Favourites just need to press hear icon present on it.
In addition to this, you can manage story content, change story title, save story video, and delete and edit it. There are several amazing options to edit story videos.
Choose what to create
You can easily create the album through a few steps. Firstly, open the Samsung Gallery app >> tap on the Album section >> press Plus icon. Now, you can select any one options mentioned below.
- Album: Create an album just for you. It can’t be shared.
- Auto-Updating Album: Create an album that automatically updates to include pictures of people you select.
- Group: Create a group, then add albums so you can find them together.
- Shared album: Create an album you can share.
Select the album to show
After enabling this feature from Gallery settings, you can see a new option named ‘Select album to show‘ in the More options of the Albums section. By clicking on this option, you can see which albums will be shown in My Albums.
However, you can see the all albums by the View all option, which is present below the More option.
Merge Album
When you enable the merge option, albums with the same name will be shown as a single album. Whenever you open a merge album, a message appears that it is a merge album and it is created by adding the number of albums.
Shared Album Notification
Samsung One UI 5.0 Gallery app brings a new feature called Shared Album Notification. After enabling this option, you will get notified when peoples share albums, add new images/videos, and any new people join or leave Shared Album. When you enable the Shared album notification option, three options appear:
- Shared Albums: Get notified when people share albums with you or delete albums shared with you.
- New posts: Get notified when people add images and videos to shared albums
- Member updates: Get notified when people join or leave shared albums
