Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 782G processor for future mid-rangers

Earlier this week, Qualcomm introduced a new processor – Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for 2023’s flagship smartphones and tablets. Now the company has officially launched a new mid-range processor known as Snapdragon 782G.

Introducing the Snapdragon 782G chipset, Qualcomm says that it is a perfect balance of amplified performance and captivating experience with on-device boosts that fuel effortless AI, triple-thread capture, and smooth connectivity.

Furthermore, similar to the predecessor Snapdragon 778G+, the new chipset also uses the TSMC 6nm fabrication process and the same CPU and GPU. Whereas, the CPU equips one Cortex-A78 (Kryo 670 Prime) core clocked at 2.7GHz, three Cortex-A78 (Kryo 670 Gold) cores clocked at 2.2GHz, and four Cortex-A55 (Kryo 670 Silver) cores clocked at 1.9GHz.

Snapdragon 782G features:

Amplified performance:

The Kryo CPU on the new processor is improved by over 5% and Adreno GPU sees an up to 10% boost compared to the Snapdragon 778G+. And, when your device’s battery needs a boost, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology will recharge it instantly.

Effortless AI:

The Qualcomm AI Engine packs a fused AI accelerator architecture and dedicated, shared AI memory for faster data transfer. Additionally, the company’s Sensing Hub enables context-based audio analytics for automatic mic switching and volume control.

Triple-threat capture:

The Qualcomm Spectra ISP features a 14-bit triple ISP capable of simultaneous capture from three cameras with fast processing of up to 2 gigapixels per second. It also captures photos in up to 200MP for lifelike detail and sharp contrast.

Smooth connectivity:

With the support of both mmWave and sub-6 GHz frequencies, the Snapdragon X53 delivers multi-gigabit, truly global 5G for low-latency gaming, streaming, and more.

The FastConnect 6700 provides Wi-Fi 6 up to 2.9 Gbps with substantial capacity over the 6 GHz spectrum with integrated Bluetooth 5.2.

Samsung Galaxy A74 to use Snapdragon 782G?

At the present time, the company has not revealed which devices will use the new Snapdragon 782G chipset. However, looking at its specs and other features, it’s likely to fit the upcoming upper mid-range Samsung Galaxy A74 smartphone.

This chipset will let customers experience high-powered 5G gaming, low-latency Bluetooth audio, immersive video calls, and premium photography.
